TCmarches -- A list for Tompkins County war resisters

TCmarches@lists.tompkisagainstwar.org was established on January 11, 2008 as a list serve for discussion of direct action against war and occupation for residents of Tompkins County and the larger Fingerlakes region. The emphasis is on local participation in regionally coordinated actions. TCmarches refers to the inspirational and successful Tompkins Marches for Peace events in March 2007 which included feeder marches originating in towns throughout the county converging on the Ithaca Commons. This truly was an event for which folks throughout the county took ownership and responsibility.The Ithaca Peace Vigil (ithacapeacevigil.org), the Trumansburg-based Back to Democracy (backtodemocracy.org), and the Social Justice Council of the Ithaca Unitarian Church (http://sjc.unitarian.ithaca.ny.us) were several of community and student groups that came together to initiate and coordibnate that effort, but what was really special was how folks in various neighborhoods and towns took over the planning, outreach, and execution. This list is also the listserve for Fingerlakes for Peace (fingerlakesforpeace.org), a group originally formed in support of the action at Rep. Kuhl's office in Bath, NY. This list is hosted on the tompkinsagainstwar.org domain. http://tompkinsagainstwar.org is a web log for Tompkins County War Resisters encompassing three broad work areas: direct action against war and occupation; impeachment of the president and vice-president; and support for soldiers, veterans, and military families working to end the war and bring our troops home. Using TCmarches
To post a message to all the list members, send email to tcmarches@lists.tompkinsagainstwar.org. You can subscribe to the list, or change your existing subscription, in the sections below.
Subscribing to TCmarches
Subscribe to TCmarches by filling out the following form. You will be sent email requesting confirmation, to prevent others from gratuitously subscribing you. Once confirmation is received, your request will be held for approval by the list moderator. You will be notified of the moderator's decision by email. This is also a private list, which means that the list of members is not available to non-members. Your email address:   Your name (optional):   You may enter a privacy password below. This provides only mild security, but should prevent others from messing with your subscription. Do not use a valuable password as it will occasionally be emailed back to you in cleartext.
